Frequently Asked Questions Is Tour Judaica a tour operator?Yes and no – it all depends on which country you live in and what local name is given to organisations such as ours. Tour Operator, Tour Organiser, Inclusive Tour Operator, Travel Agent, Destination Management, etc. A tour arrangement generally consists of transportation to and from the destination, transfers between airport/port, accommodation, excursions and other inclusions depending on the programme. Tour Judaica is a non-profit making “Tour Organiser”. We arrange, develop and market Jewish Heritage Tours, in conjunction with bonded tour companies, for both Jewish and non-Jewish markets (private groups, educational and religious establishments and for those interested in Jewish history and heritage). Do your tours all start from the UK?We are a new and small organisation and will initially concentrate on tours from the UK. However, if you are located elsewhere we will be pleased to co-operate with an accredited travel company in your country. Such companies must belong to a relevant travel industry association and hold a bond which protects the traveller. Is kosher food available on the tours? It is our objective to provide kosher cuisine for flights, hotels and restaurants, supervised and approved by a relevant rabbinical body. For tailor-made groups the catering will depend on the participants requirements. For example, vegetarian meals may be acceptable to some but not others. Are Guest Speakers/Lecturers an integral part of a tour?It depends on the destination. It is not always possible to find local guides with the relevant knowledge of local Jewish history or background. May we take our own Guest Speaker?Of course you may. Very often a tour materializes from the expertise of an organisation’s religious leader or a university’s lecturer, for example. |
